and now, from the AU where Bucky is a nude model, and something about Steve’s fingers around the pencil and his easy smile, makes Bucky wonder if he’ll make it through this one with his dignity
… The Winter Soldier killed Howard and Maria Stark…
Bucky killed Howard and Maria Stark.
BUCKY FUCKING BARNES KILLED HOWARD AND MARIA STARK.
Make the goddamn connection. ‘Accident’ my ass…
I know it wasn’t the real Bucky. He was buried underneath a shit ton of Hydra brainwashing and memory loss. But just the idea of him murdering Tony’s parents without even knowing is unimaginable and it hurts my heart. Fuck you Marvel and all your damn feels.
Not just murdering Tony’s parents, but murdering a man Bucky no doubt knew personally and might have considered a friend, murdering someone who helped Steve rescue him from the HYDRA base and who we can be 99.99999% sure Bucky himself would not have wanted to kill.
I didn’t catch this and now everything hurts.
when i said “The MCU is beautiful and nothing hurts” what I meant was “everything hurts forever goodbye”
I love it. Because with the popular “Tony hacked SHIELD and all that info is waiting for him” post going around, imagine when Tony digs it up and finds out the guy who Steve’s chasing around killed his dad. Imagine him cobbling together a slapdash suit without Pepper noticing and jetting to where Bucky is, and being ready to blow him up without him even realizing Tony’s there, only to stop.
Because the man down there doesn’t look like a remorseless trained killer. He’s dirty and he’s thin and he’s sleeping on a park bench. The cybernetic arm he’s got doesn’t work right. The fingers are awkwardly curled where the servomotors have run down. The knuckles on his flesh and blood hand are bruised and scraped from where he had to fight off a couple of drug addicts wanting to roll a homeless guy for spare change.
And Tony would lower the repulsors and pick up his phone and call Steve. And leave before he got there.
Pepper would find him in the morning with a smashed up set of armor and a bottle of scotch and an old album. Drunk and crying.
Tony thinks long and hard before he puts on the suit again.
HATEPIG WHY WOULD YOU DO THISI FUCKING IMAGINED THAT LAST PARAGRAPH AND I CRIED I REALLY CRIED AND I HAVE FINALS IN TWO WEEKS I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THAT SAD SHIT AND HOMELESS BUCKY FUCK EVERYTHING
Sebastian Stan in a bathtub wearing leather pants is literally God’s gift to humankind.
day whatever: these photos exist, and people still are not tripping over themselves to write me rentboy!au steve/bucky
why isn’t this something EVERYONE WRITES the second they get into the fandom
cut to steve, dressed in boxers and an old t-shirt, standing on a quiet balcony overlooking a beach with pristine waters sparkling in the distance. he squints into the early morning light, one hand shading his eyes from the brillance of the rising sun. his hair is sleep-tousled and there’s a pink crease across one cheek from the pillow. eventually he lowers his hand and closes his eyes, tipping his head back and breathing in deep, hands braced against the balcony railing.
a voice behind him, rough with sleep, says, “coffee?”
steve bows his head, smiling. “you make it this time. it’s your turn.”
the voice says, “asshole.”
cut to a metal arm sliding around steve’s waist and bucky burying his face into the back of steve’s neck, shirtless and slightly sunburned across his shoulders.

I just got around to seeing this movie, despite the fact that it did not get a wide-release.
Find it and watch it.
Believe me when I say, this film is in the same league of sci-fi/speculative film classics as Bladerunner and Children of Men.
Should have a HUGE fandom.
It deals with issues like class, caste-systems, oppression, and the nature of humanity in a way mainstream films like The Hunger Games never could.
Let me tell you a story about the film-maker Joon-Ho Bong. Some years back, I had the privilege of attending a screening of one his films and the man happened to be there. At that time, he’d already gotten some notice for making The Host, another awesome film that allegorizes heavy issues in humanity.
So, he does the q&a at the end and someone asks him why he’s never produced a Hollywood movie.
…And he says, paraphrasing; that Hollywood would never let him make the kind of movies he’d like. He’d have to hire an all-white cast and the actors would have to fit a certain aesthetic. They couldn’t be non-white, older than twenty-five, or non-thin…especially actresses.
He said, it’s not worth selling out, when he can make the kinds of movies he wants in South Korea.
…And then he makes this.
I’d love to spoil it for you, but suffice it say it was, as all good speculative sci-fi is, very effecting for me.
Again, I beg you PLEASE SEE THIS MOVIE.
And if you need more convincing??
Your faves are in it: Octavia Spencer aka the above flawless actress in the poster, Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Ed Harris and the father/daughter pair from The Host, Kang-So Hung and Ah-Sung Ko (which had me thinking AU!).
Now, I shall commence spamming my tumblr with Snowpiercer reblogs…
Apologies ahead of time.
mmm the host was great i’d love to see this.
Snowpiercer has been on my radar for a little while now, and I do hope to catch it when it comes out, limited release or not. The Host was a really fun film.
Here’s to adding Snowpiercer on other people’s radar.
(trivia: the movie is based on a french graphic novel called “Transperceneige”)
and just to add one more trivia about this movie- it was originally scheduled to be released much much earlier, but that would’ve meant the movie would lose nearly 20 minutes of footage(X). The director fought tooth and nail to retain the movie as it was released in Korea, and although the agreement has been reached not to delete whooping 20 minutes(X), it also means the movie may not get the wide US release(X). So. yeah. Still crossing my finger, but thanks Weinstein and co -_-.
d’you think the avengers ever play a game where they try to push steve’s buttons and get him all riled up and patriotic?
tony casually throws it into a conversation like “oh yeah I don’t vote” and steve trails off mid-sentence and gapes for a second before he starts in on the importance of the democratic process and how dangerous it can be if citizens give up their say in how the government is run and tony is trying so so hard to keep a straight face
meanwhile bruce is standing in the background timing the speech with his watch because whoever gets the longest rant wins a little trophy that tony made. the current holder of the trophy is clint who managed to convince steve that he doesn’t pay taxes
isn’t this already a scifigirl fic
So far, I have been enjoying the Adventures of Business Cat a great deal, possibly more than is appropriate for an adult human. (All of these are from the webcomic Happy Jar)
UPDATE: Now with more Business.
YES ALL THE BUSINESS CAT STRIPS IN ONE PLACE
remember that time FOB wrote a music video for which the entire concept is just. emo vampire gangs? At some point Pete Wentz was like: ok so I’m a vampire right? ok no no hear me out, I’m a vampire and Patrick is taking care of me because I wanna be a good vampire, obv. and at night we go out, and there are all these vampire gangs that we protect people from. Who are the gangs? oh right just. like whoever we have on hand. There’s that one gang of punk vampires and a gang of hip-hop vampires (Travie is the leader), and then these flamboyant androgynous Dandy vamps, no no no it makes sense, Brendon Urie’s in it and William Beckett is the leader and he turned me and it’s all vaguely homoerotic. oh and I can fly and play bass at the same time. What does this have to do with the actual song? ha ha ha ha nothing man, rock and roll.
But anyway, I recently sat down to figure out exactly where Steve’s local gay bars would be, or where the closest ones would be, for purposes of plotting things out, and uh … turns out that Steve Rogers lived in the MIDDLE of the biggest cruising/gay bar/gay hangouts area of Brooklyn. Like, a couple blocks from the St. George Hotel, which was almost entirely gay by the early 40s.
This is actually a really great, fascinating essay on the area and time Steve grew up in. The whole idea that Steve (and Bucky even more) would be completely, totally clueless seems even more ridiculous when you really look at this stuff.
How about a little OLD SCHOOL Jeremy Renner?
you still see that face in the bottom one, in his performances on screen
omfg, the scarecrow costume is gr9
WELL THIS CERTAINLY COMPLEMENTS THAT PREVIOUS BB!CLARK GREGG POST, YES?
